The New Glarus School District has a
commitment to excellence in education for all students. Gifted students
have unique needs by virtue of their intellectual, academic, artistic,
creative, and leadership potential and have the right to be challenged.
We will utilize a variety of curriculum delivery strategies to meet
their academic needs in the heterogeneous, mixed ability classroom.
Foremost will be differentiation that allows a student to work at a more
in-depth, sophisticated level within a curricular area. Enrichment will
also be a key component to develop these students' potential. The
district recognizes the unique social challenges and emotional needs of
this group and will provide counseling and support. We approach gifted
students in partnership with parents and the community.
