Mission
The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished by:
- providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
- providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats

Library Use
General library etiquette suggests that students study quietly in the library. Students may converse while completing course work together, speaking in low tones or whispers. The rights of those who are studying quietly take precedence over those who are conversing in the library. In the event that a class is being held in the library and conducted by a teacher and/or the librarian, other students are expected to be respectfully quiet.
Students visiting the school libraries are expected to follow all school rules regarding behavior, dress, network use, etc. as set forth in the Student Handbook. At no time is shouting, running or fighting in the library tolerated.
- Be productive.
- Allow others to be productive.
- Read, research or reflect.
- Be polite and considerate.
- No food or drink allowed (except plain water in a re-sealable container).
- Use computers for school work only.
Loan Periods and Library Policies
- Materials from open shelves: 3 weeks
- Audio-visual materials: overnight-due by 8am
- Student laptops (MS/HS): overnight-due by 8am
- Materials may by renewed upon request.
Overdue materials: Returning materials on time is necessary so all library users can access the materials. Library etiquette and responsible citizenship require that materials be returned promptly. Overdue notices will be issued periodically. No overdue fines will be charged. After four weeks, an overdue book is considered "lost" and a bill will be issued for the replacement cost of the item. A bill may also issued for damaged materials.
Restriction of Library Checkout Privileges
In rare cases of numerous lost or damaged materials, or theft or attempted theft, the librarian may restrict library checkout privileges.
Community Use of the School Library
Community members are invited to use the school libraries. However, use may be limited by demand in the school. Contact the librarian for up-to-date information.

Statewide Battle of the Books
The Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association sponsors a Statewide Battle of the Books programs each school year that culminates in February. But you can start reading the books this summer. Keep in mind that the lists might change a little by September.

Get involved in Read On by reading and discussing fascinating books. This year's top picks are recommended by students and educators across Wisconsin. Through the club, students, teachers, and parents can read and discuss award-winning books in and out of the classroom.
